On May 1, 2014, the Labor Day was again commemorated globally to honor and salute the workers in the private sector and give due recognition of their great and valuable contribution to world economy.
In the Autonomous Regional Government, the DOLE- ARMM under the stewardship of Regional Secretary Muslimin A. Jakilan spearheaded the 112th ARAW NG PAGGAWA with the theme “Sa Sipag, Tiyaga, at Talino, Buong Mundo Saludo sa Manggagawang Pilipino.” The Celebration was highlighted by the parade at 6:30 AM around the Office the Regional Compound which started from the RPDO Building up to the front of the Office of the Regional Governor Building where a Short Program was held. Datukali, President of United Workers’ Union, a labor union of employees of PHILTRADE, INC., and Ms. Norie Cambri, an employee of Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (MAGELCO) in behalf of the Workers’ Sector while Mr. Edgar L. Bulleicer, Management Representative to the ARMM Wage Board and SVP-External Affairs of UNIFRUTTI PHIL., INC. delivered the message for the Employers’ Sector.
An Inspirational Message of Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman was delivered by Executive Secretary Atty. Laisa M. Alamia thanking and recognizing the vital role of the workers in uplifting the economy. As Jakilan said in his Opening Statement, indeed, Filipino Workers, exemplified by their being hardworking, patient and intelligent have not only been admired by us but also by the whole world.
Following the program, the DOH-ARMM conducted a Medical Mission (RBS Screening) at the lobby of the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Center.
The Celebration was festive due to the active participation of the different line agencies of ARMM, private companies, school institutions and student-employees under the SPES of DOLE.
